Raising Muslim Children

This series of lectures began by Umm Sahl, the wife of Sheikh Nuh, gathering the parents of the neighborhood of Kharabsheh in the Zawiya to address them regarding the raising of their children. The matter of concern was that the manners (adab) and character (akhlaq) of many of the children didn't resemble Islamic adab and akhlaq. The result of this would be that the children may not grow up as righteous Muslims and the opportunity of both living in an Islamic environment and the hope of them being able to benefit others as adults would be lost.

In response to this address, a number of mothers in the neighborhood approached Umm Sahl for her help in making them more aware of what constitutes Islamic tarbiyya. These ongoing lectures take place in her home once a week and cover translations of lessons given by Sheikh Hassan al-Hindi from Damascus on Islamic tarbiyya, discussion of the book Islamic Manners by Sheikh Adb al-Fattah Abu Ghuddah, reviews of books on child rearing and related material.

Because of the continuous requests from people outside of the country, the lectures are being made available for anyone interested.

The audio files are available using Pay-Per-Download credits; however, the first 4 lessons are free to download.
